Foo Fighters Will Replace Stevie Nicks After Her Decision To Cancel Live Shows

Today, Fleetwood Mac vocalist and solo musician Stevie Nicks shared a public statement on her Twitter account to reveal that she has decided to cancel her upcoming shows due to her safety concerns.

Since the outbreak of Covid-19 in early 2020, many stars in the music scene have had to cancel or postpone their shows due to government restrictions and safety measures. After most countries decided to ease the restrictions for public gatherings and events, bands and musicians started rescheduling their upcoming events for 2021.

Stevie Nicks was one of these stars who planned a couple of new shows for this year. She was going to perform at Jazz Aspen Festival, BottleRock Napa Valley, Austin City Limits Music Festival, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, and Shaky Knees Festival. However, Nicks made a public announcement some hours ago and said she has decided to cancel all five performances since she does not want to take the risk of getting infected.

After the 73-years-old musician shared the breaking news, Foo Fighters posted a new tweet on their official social media accounts and noted that they are going to replace Stevie in the Shaky Knees Festival on October 22, 2021. Foo Fighters will join other bands like Alice Cooper, Run The Jewels, and The Strokes. The tickets for the event are now available via the festival’s official website.

Stevie announced her decision saying:

“These are challenging times with challenging decisions that have to be made. I want everyone to be safe and healthy, and the rising Covid cases should be of concern to all of us. While I’m vaccinated, at my age, I am still being extremely cautious and for that reason have decided to skip the 5 performances I had planned for 2021.

Because singing and performing have been my whole life, my primary goal is to keep healthy so I can continue singing for the next decade or longer. I’m devastated, and I know the fans are disappointed, but we will look towards a brighter 2022.”

The official Twitter account of Foo Fighters stated that:

“Just announced: Foos are joining Shaky Knees Festival lineup on October 22!
