Foo Fighters drummer Ilan Rubin recently shared an unusual story about his wedding reception. Blink-182’s Tom DeLonge allegedly showed Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor photos of a dead alien, as revealed in an interview with Go with Elmo Lovano.

Rubin recounted the bizarre encounter that took place during his wedding reception. He described how DeLonge approached Reznor with his phone.

“We finally get down to the reception, where the first two people I see are Tom [DeLonge] and Trent [Reznor]. And Tom’s a really tall guy, and he’s kind of just hovering over Trent. His phone’s out, and I know how this goes: ‘Hey, check this out.’ And I’m thinking, ‘What is he possibly showing him right now?'” Rubin said.

The drummer then described his direct interaction with both musicians at the reception.

“Then, I go straight up to them like, ‘Hey guys, how’s it going?’ Tom’s like, ‘Dude, congratulations. I’ll see you in a bit, I’m going to get a drink.’ And then I was like, ‘Trent, what’s going on?’ He’s like, ‘That dude just showed me a dead alien,'” he continued.

Rubin concluded his story by reflecting on DeLonge’s unique personality and approach to such situations.

“Nobody else could conduct themselves in that way, and [have] it be normal, but [Tom’s] just so unapologetically him. It’s infectious,” he said.

DeLonge’s behavior at the wedding reception aligns with his well-documented passion for UFO research and extraterrestrial investigations. This passion has defined much of his post-Blink-182 career.

Wikipedia reported that DeLonge co-founded To The Stars Academy of Arts & Sciences in 2017. The company focuses on UFO investigations and fringe science, including analysis of alleged alien materials and phenomena. The organization has positioned itself as a serious research entity dedicated to advancing the scientific understanding of unidentified aerial phenomena.

The group gained significant credibility when it released Navy videos from the 2004 USS Nimitz UFO incident. ABC News noted that these videos were later declassified by the Pentagon in 2020 as authentic footage of unidentified aerial phenomena. This validation from official military sources lent substantial weight to DeLonge’s UFO research efforts.

DeLonge’s transition from punk rock musician to UFO researcher has been marked by his unwavering commitment to the subject matter. His organization continues to investigate unexplained phenomena. It has worked to bring greater transparency to government UFO data.

The wedding incident described by Rubin demonstrates how DeLonge’s passion for UFO research extends into his personal interactions. This makes such conversations a natural part of his social encounters with fellow musicians and friends.
