Five Rockstars Having Top Model Daughters

Beyond the guitar riffs and stage lights, these rockstars share a common thread: each is a proud parent to a top model daughter. These young women, who decorate the covers of fashion magazines, appear on the fashion shows of the world’s leading brands and take part in advertising campaigns, arouse great interest and admiration in both the music and fashion worlds. Here is our list of the five top model rock star daughters.

5. Eliot Sumner – Sting

Sting’s daughter Eliot Sumner, nicknamed ‘Coco’, started her modelling career when she was only 17 years old. In 2008, the top model for the new campaign of fashion house Burberry was none other than Coco. Afterwards, she started her own music career and followed in her father’s footsteps. In a 2016 interview with the blog Transistor, she talked about the influence of her father, Sting, on her music. She said:

“My father’s music will always be the thing I look up to the most since I grew up with it. I always try and do my own thing but there’ll always be a bit of him in it.”

Although she is both a band leader and a DJ, she says that she still carries the influences of her father’s music.

4. Lily Collins – Phil Collins

Lily Collins began acting and modelling in the late 2000s. She gained recognition for her acting skills showcased on films like  ‘Abduction’ and ‘Mirror Mirror. In an interview with Vogue France in 2022, Lily Collins said the following about not making similar choices to her father as a career choice:

“I love to sing. But as I wanted to make my own way, far from the paternal genius, I preferred to be an actress. I played in a few musicals because it’s the only setting in which I allow myself to sing. Frankly, I would be too afraid of comparisons!”

Lily thinks she doesn’t have a good voice, but she’s one of the most respected actresses on our list.

3. Sophie Simmons – Gene Simmons

Sophie Simmons is a 31-year-old singer, television personality and model who promotes body positivity. Sophie dabbled in modelling for a while, but her frustration as a size eight girl in a size zero world eventually led to her decision to quit. But this inspired her to launch her own body-positive clothing line for ‘Style Club’ in 2014. In an interview with People Magazine in 2020, Sophie said the following about her new campaign and the troubles she had experienced in the industry in the past:

“When I was 14 and just trying modeling, they would flat out tell you, ‘You’re not small enough, Or [agencies] will take you as a model, but then they won’t send you out on any castings without telling you why. I just love that Adore Me is hiring [curvy models] because it’s setting an example for the next generation of girls. I didn’t have that, so I’m happy to be a part of it.”

Sophie Simmons and former Playboy playmate Shannon Tweed has launched a career as a lingerie model for Adore Me.

2. Liv Tyler – Steven Tyler

Liv Tyler began modeling professionally at the age of 14. Then she quickly grew bored with modeling and turned her attention exclusively to acting. She is best known for her role as Arwen in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy. She also was featured in the music video of Aerosmith song ‘Crazy’. She revealed she figured out Steven was her dad when she went to an Aerosmith concert with her mother. Liv briefly described the incident on the Jonathan Ross Show in 2015 as follows:

“My mother was very young when she had me, and there was a little bit of confusion about where I came from, but I was very loved and well taken care of by all my family. I have a sister named Mia who is a year younger than me. And I saw her standing at the side of a stage at a concert, and it was literally like looking at my twin. She looked exactly like me”

That’s how she realised that her father was a rock star.

1.  Georgia May Jagger – Mick Jagger

Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall’s daughter, Georgia May Jagger, has a successful modeling career. She’s been the face of campaigns such as Rimmel London, Versace and Chanel. Born directly into the public eye, she prefers to lead a more private life. This year, she told Harper’s Bazaar U.K. that:

“I have always just wanted to keep my life as normal as possible. I still have a lot of the same friends from when I was a kid, and I always try to make sure I have a lot of personal time which is nothing to do with this world. I think that really helps to keep my life balanced,”

Considering that her mother was also a model, Georgia followed in her mother’s footsteps.
