Ex-Asking Alexandria Singer Accuses Band of $5 Million Theft, Mocks Danny Worsnop’s Vocals

Denis Stoff has reignited his feud with Asking Alexandria by mocking Danny Worsnop’s recent live performance and accusing the band of withholding millions in royalties. He shared a statement on Stoff’s official Instagram.

The former Asking Alexandria vocalist’s statement addressed both Worsnop’s live performance capabilities and ongoing financial disputes with the band.

“I’ve seen the videos (of Danny Worsnop), I laughed my tits off, and I loved it,” Stoff said. “Like hundreds of people mentioned in the comments, this is what they always sounded like live since the beginning of their career.”

Stoff continued his criticism of Worsnop’s performance style. He referenced past accusations made against him.

“I was rolling on the floor laughing years ago when Danny said that I was performing to his backing tracks which was an awful and a 100% fake statement,” he said. “As you can see in their Warped Tour 2025 show, Danny is clearly having tons of backing tracks in their live set and is clearly incapable of giving a good performance to the people who paid money for their tickets and simply wanted to see a good show.”

The statement then shifted to more serious financial allegations against the band.

“But unfortunately, I would never return to a band that has still NEVER presented a single royalty statement for ‘The Black’ album and has failed to pay out an estimated $5,000,000 of my profit share, as stipulated in the contracts I signed with them at the time,” Stoff said. “This includes revenue from song authorship, sales, streams, deals, show tickets, performance guarantees, and worldwide merchandise sales.”

Stoff’s latest comments come amid ongoing tensions that have persisted since his departure from the band nearly a decade ago.

Metal Addicts reported that audience recordings of the June 15th Warped Tour performance showed Worsnop’s vocals inconsistently mixed. The vocals were at times drowned out by the band or overly strong and unrefined. Fans criticized his disengaged stage presence and called for his departure from the band.

The current dispute stems from Stoff’s brief but significant tenure with Asking Alexandria. Wikipedia documented that Stoff joined the band in 2015 after Danny Worsnop initially left to pursue other projects. He fronted the group during the recording and promotion of their 2016 album “The Black.”

Stoff’s time with the band was relatively short-lived. Wikipedia noted that Danny Worsnop returned to Asking Alexandria in late 2016 following Stoff’s departure. He resumed his role as lead vocalist and continues with the band to this day.

The financial allegations Stoff has raised highlight the complex nature of band contracts and royalty agreements in the music industry. His claims of $5 million in unpaid royalties from “The Black” album encompass various revenue streams. These include songwriting credits, sales, streaming, merchandise, and live performance guarantees that were allegedly stipulated in his original contract with the band.
