The band emphasized the significant effort invested in the project over an extended period.

“This album is over three years in the making, and we are so damn proud of every second of it,” they continued. “Hope you love it and can’t wait for you to hear it! HERE WE GO!”

Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee provided additional insight into the creative process behind the album.

“This album is over three years in the making… I am so damn proud of every second of it,” Lee said. “Working on it has been my outlet for so much that feels wrong and out of control, and a place to ignite hope through the power of music and connection.”

The upcoming release marks a significant milestone for the band as they prepare to support the album with extensive touring and multiple format releases.

Blabbermouth reported that the new single “Who Will You Follow” was co-written and produced by Zakk Cervini and Jordan Fish. The album features production work split between Cervini/Fish on some tracks and Nick Raskulinecz on others, showcasing a collaborative approach to the band’s sound evolution.

The band has planned multiple release formats to accommodate different fan preferences. Blabbermouth noted that “Sanctuary” will be available in digital, CD, deluxe CD, and limited-edition box set formats. A double vinyl release is scheduled for September 4th. This comprehensive release strategy demonstrates the band’s commitment to reaching fans across various listening preferences.

To support the new album, Loudwire confirmed that Evanescence will embark on a full North American tour starting June 11 in West Palm Beach, Florida. The tour will feature support from Spiritbox and Nova Twins, creating a diverse lineup that spans different subgenres of rock and metal music.

The new single “Who Will You Follow” is now available, marking the band’s return after a five-year gap between studio albums. It sets the stage for what promises to be a significant comeback for the gothic rock pioneers.
