Ed Sheeran recently appeared as a guest on the Youtube channel of Apple Music and talked about their collaboration with Elton John for a Christmas song. Sheeran revealed that he could have hurt John if it weren’t for a minor coincidence.

The English musicians, Ed Sheeran and Elton John, have been good friends for the past years, but this new Christmas song is the first one they created together. They had collaborated for a special song for ‘Friends: The Reunion,’ but the two were accompanied by Courtney Cox and Brandie Carlile, so it wasn’t just the two of them.

Sheeran and John released their new Christmas song named ‘Merry Christmas’ on December 3. They also released a very entertaining music video on Youtube, which is full of Christmas vibes. ‘Merry Christmas’ was written by both Sheeran and John. It has been announced that the royalties and sales of the track will be donated to the Ed Sheeran Suffolk Music Foundation and The Elton John AIDS Foundation.

During the conversation with Apple Music, Ed Sheeran shared a special but also a terrifying moment from the set of their music video. Sheeran explained that he kicked a present used within the video, which had a big bell on it. When he kicked the gift, it flew up high, and it almost killed Elton John. Fortunately, it just went over John’s head, and it was definitely a moment of luck for both of them.

Here is how Ed Sheeran shared this startling moment:

“We just shot a Christmas music video. Oh, mate. I almost killed him with a bell. On the video, there’s footage of… I’m dressed up as sort of sexy Santa Claus, and I kick a present, but the present had a big metal bell on top of it. I showed him the footage of it today because we slowed it down, and the bell flew past his head and would’ve cracked him in the head.

Oh my God, the horror that went through my body when it was flying through the air. But, man, the music video is wild. We’ve parodied all the great British music videos that came at Christmas.”
