Dream Theater performed their cover of the classic holiday song ‘O Holy Night’ during their December 22nd show at Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile. This is the first time the band has played the track live since 1998.

In 2020, Dream Theater released a selection of holiday classics titled ‘The Holiday Spirit Carries On,’ and in 2021, they uploaded their cover of ‘O Holy Night‘ to their official YouTube channel. The track was recorded during a soundcheck at the Roseland Theater in Portland, Oregon. Three years later, it was made available on a rare CD, exclusively for members of a select fan club.

Dream Theater recently finished the European part of their 40th-anniversary tour. The tour, called ‘An Evening With Dream Theater,’ started on October 20 at the O2 Arena in London, UK. It was the band’s first show with Mike Portnoy in 14 years. The tour ended on November 24 in Amsterdam, with performances in several cities across different countries.
