Although The Eagles’ Long Goodbye tour featured Steely Dan as its opening act, it seems that this fact has changed, at least, for the foreseeable future.

This recent news came from none other than Don Henley, who opened up on stage about Donald Fagen’s hospitalization during the Eagles’ latest show in Indianapolis on October 9.

After informing the audience of Fagen’s current whereabouts, Henley also briefly commented on the situation and if it would be affecting the tour, saying:

“The show must go on.”

In fact, the show is indeed going on at full speed, as Henley and co. had recruited Sheryl Crow as their opening act for the shows on October 5 and 6. Then, Steve Miller filled in for Steely Dan’s opener slot on October 9 and he, reportedly, will be opening three more gigs.

Fagen and Steely Dan had last performed with the Eagles on September 20. Although what illness the frontman is battling isn’t clear, it’s, possibly, could be COVID, as five members of the band’s road crew had tested positive previously.
