Disturbed frontman David Draiman shared his thoughts on the state of rock music through his X (formerly Twitter) account.

“Love seeing Deftones killing it out there,” Draiman said. “Selling out arenas all over the place. So many of us learned from, and are inspired by them. Rock is definitely NOT DEAD.”

Ongoing debates about rock music’s vitality in today’s music industry continue. Draiman used Deftones’ successful arena tour as evidence of the genre’s continued strength.

His comments gained particular relevance as Deftones demonstrate rock music’s enduring appeal through their tour success.

Pollstar revealed that Deftones expanded their 2025 North American tour. The band added 14 new dates for August and September in response to fan demand.

The band’s current tour features consistently sold-out performances at major venues. The prestigious Kia Forum in Los Angeles stands among the notable sold-out shows, highlighting rock music’s strong concert attendance.

Climate Pledge Arena confirmed special guests The Mars Volta and Fleshwater will join the extended tour. This collaboration strengthens the lineup and showcases the rock community’s unified spirit.

Blabbermouth reported the tour expansion stems directly from exceptional ticket sales and fan enthusiasm. These factors effectively counter any narratives about rock music’s declining influence in contemporary music.
