Deep Purple Icon Ritchie Blackmore’s Net Worth Is Lower Than Expected

Ritchie Blackmore is the leader of the two legendary heavy metal bands Deep Purple and Rainbow. He founded Deep Purple in 1968, and most importantly, the band was considered one of the leaders of heavy metal. Deep Purple was often named one of the ‘unholy trinity of British hard rock and heavy metal’ alongside Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.
Blackmore quit Deep Purple in 1975 to form his band Rainbow. Initially, the band was called Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, but they decided to leave it at Rainbow because it was too long. One of the original founding members was Ronnie James Dio who only stuck with the band for 2 years.
Even though Rainbow went through many lineup changes, the band was a massive influence during its time. They have sold over 30 million records worldwide and it was No. 90 on VH1’s 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock. However, Blackmore’s influence did not just end with these two legendary bands.
Ritchie Blackmore’s Net Worth $25 Million
With his current wife and then-girlfriend, Candice Night, they formed a traditional folk-rock band in 1997 called Blackmore’s Night. Together, they released 11 albums. The duo performed in Renaissance festivals making the band solely for their taste in Renaissance-type folk music.
With all of his achievements, being involved in many areas of music, and his talent in creating guitar riffs and quality solos, he was ranked No. 50 on Rolling Stone’s Greatest Guitarist of All Time list in 2011. Moreover, Blackmore was ranked 16th in Guitar World’s Greatest Metal Guitarist of All Time in 2004 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.
After looking back at all the things he had accomplished both for the rock and roll world and for his taste, along with Candice Night, it is strange to see that his Net Worth is only $25 Million. Releasing countless singles and dozens of studio and live albums with Deep Purple, Rainbow, and Blackmore’s Night, his net worth was expected to be much higher than $25 Million.
