Dee Snider Wishes Gene Simmons Would Shut Up About His Claim

Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider reacted to KISS bassist Gene Simmons’ ideas about the current situation of rock music. He also emphasized that Simmons is driving him crazy with his selfish ‘rock is read’ claim and he shouldn’t have said that in his interview with Consequence Heavy.

KISS bassist Gene Simmons started the longtime argument about contemporary rock music and new generation rock stars when he said ‘rock is dead’ in one of his previous interviews that he participated in. Simmons shared his thoughts by saying that there aren’t any new rock bands that can replace The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Pink Floyd.

After Simmons’ controversial statements about rock music, many rock and metal musicians such as the Kiszka brothers, Taylor Momsen, Tony Iommi, and Dee Snider with many more revealed that they couldn’t agree with the KISS icon, and they also showed the success and passion of the young generation musicians and people’s never-ending interest in rock and metal music as the proof.

Moreover, Dee Snider criticized the words of Gene Simmons once again when he was asked to share his ideas about the ‘rock is dead’ argument. According to Snider, Simmons’s statement was very ‘self-absorbed’ and ‘selfish’ and he wished he wouldn’t say those things about rock music. Also, he added that he loves Gene Simmons and KISS but still his words drive him crazy.

Snider said in his interview that:

“He makes me crazy! I mean, I love him, I love KISS, but I wish he would just shut the hell up with this. And he doubles down on it. This statement of ‘rock’s dead, there are no rock stars,’ all that shit, it’s so self-serving and self-absorbed. It’s selfish!”
