Dee Snider Says Leslie West Was A Guitar God

The iconic names of the rock and roll world have come together to create a tribute album for Leslie West. The new single, a cover of ‘Blood of the Sun,’ was recently released. Having participated in the process, Dee Snider stated his opinions on West in a recent interview and said he was a ‘Guitar God.’

West was the lead vocalist and guitarist of the hard rock band Mountain that the rock and roll world members looked up to. He passed away in December 2020 and deeply saddened those who were close to him.

The iconic names of rock and roll such as Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wilde, Slash, Yngwie Malmsteen united to release a tribute album for West. Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider was also a contributor to the album’s creation, and he said that he is more than happy to partake in it.

In a recent interview, Snider stated that West was his friend but also a hero and a ‘guitar god.’ He continued by stating that he always wanted to sing Mountain’s ‘Theme for an Imaginary Western’ because it ‘resonates’ and affects him.

Snider stated how honored he is by stating:

“Leslie was a hero, friend, amazing guy, and a guitar god. I always wanted to sing this song. It’s my favorite Leslie West guitar solo. It resonates with me and speaks to me on so many levels. I’m honored to have gotten a chance to do it on this record.”

Initially, West wanted to re-record some of his favorite songs and release them as an album. However, he passed away before he got the chance. Hence, the musicians carried on his legacy by creating this album. The artists are planning to release the album in March 2022 and are currently open to preorders.
