Dee Snider Recalls The Time He Was Broke And Borrowed Money To Keep His Family Alive

During his appearance on Appetite for Distortion, Dee Snider talked about his upcoming fifth upcoming solo studio album ‘Leave a Scar,’ and also he remembered the time when he had been through serious financial problems and had to ask for money to maintain a prosperous life for his family.

As you may know, Dee has been pursuing a very remarkable solo career along with being the frontman of Twisted Sister. He has released four solo studio albums for now and has recently revealed the details about his upcoming fifth solo studio album ‘Leave a Scar’. The album’s first track ‘I Gotta Rock (Again)’ was released on May 27, 2021, the album will be released on July 30, 2021.

In his interview, Snider stated that he lost his motivation and planned to quit recording new materials and performing live shows but he found the right inspiration for producing new works during the global pandemic. Also, he recalled one of the hardest times of his life and talked about what he did to survive. In 1987, Snider left Twisted Sister, their contract was canceled and the band also disbanded.

Moreover, Snider revealed that he couldn’t earn any money for a long time during the hiatus of Twisted Sister. He had to borrow money to keep his family alive while he was struggling with a serious financial crisis even though he was one of the most famous and popular heavy metal frontmen. So, Dee Snider did everything to be able to take care of his caring wife and lovely children back then.

Dee Snider stated in the interview that:

I lost everything in the early 90s and I was broke and the band fell apart. I was struggling and started a year with zero-dollar income. I was borrowing money to keep my family alive. I had still an oasis. I have these wonderful children who were happy to see me when I came through the door. So, I have made some good choices and to have that really carry me through all the more difficult times.”
