Dee Snider Protests Unfair Cancelation And Identifies As An LGBTQIA+ Ally

In light of recent events, Dee Snider felt the need to speak up through his social media accounts against his removal from the San Francisco Pride Parade & Celebration lineup, asserting his unwavering support for the LGBTQIA+ community despite the controversy surrounding his stance.

The conflict arose when KISS’ Paul Stanley made a controversial statement about sex reassignment treatment for children, which Snider publicly endorsed. As a result, Dee was dropped from his scheduled performance at the San Francisco Pride Parade & Celebration, even though he has a history of supporting LGBTQIA+ rights.

In an effort to address the criticism, Paul Stanley issued a follow-up statement seeking to clarify his initial comments. He conveyed support for individuals grappling with their sexual identity and recognized the bravery required for those who undergo reassignment surgery.

In his own statement, Dee Snider defended his support for Stanley’s position on children and gender transition while arguing that this specific viewpoint should not categorize him as transphobic.’ Snider drew attention to his longstanding advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ community and expressed disappointment over the cancelation of his performance at the Pride Parade.

The vocalist further emphasized his belief that young children might not be prepared to make life-altering decisions concerning their gender allocation and reminded readers that cognitive development continues into adulthood. He contended that supporting the transgender community does not automatically entail agreeing with all their beliefs and that moderates like himself should not be accused of transphobia for holding differing opinions on certain issues.

With this statement, Dee reasserted his commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community, even if they reject him, and stated his openness to further education to become a better ally. It remains uncertain whether the San Francisco Pride Parade & Celebration will respond to Snider’s statement or reconsider their decision to cancel his performance.
