Dee Snider, the legendary frontman of Twisted Sister, recently opened up about his experience on the popular reality TV show, the Masked Singer, in an interview with People. He was candid about how some of the judges’ guesses, including Gene Simmons and Sebastian Bach, were pretty close to his musical world. Snider found it amusing that some even thought he was Simmons, as he believes Simmons doesn’t have a very distinctive voice.

Snider’s journey on the Masked Singer came to an end during the ‘WB Movie Night’ episode. He had been disguised as a doll, complete with an elaborate costume and sparkly high-heeled shoes. The 68-year-old rocker was eliminated after his performance of Elvis Presley’s ‘Jailhouse Rock.’ The judges had tried to guess his identity based on a few clues, which included a reference to Elvis, a ‘Guys and Dolls’ playbill, and a lollipop.

The panel of judges, which consists of Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger, and Jenny McCarthy, had quite a few interesting guesses. Thicke thought Snider was actually Gene Simmons, while Jeong’s guess was Austin Butler, an Oscar-nominated actor who portrayed Elvis. Scherzinger believed Snider to be David Lee Roth, and McCarthy guessed Iggy Pop.

In his interview, Snider acknowledged that the judges were in the right ballpark with their guesses, as many of the names they mentioned were his peers from the world of rock. He even mentioned that he was surprised by the comparisons to Gene Simmons, but understood the confusion as his performance of ‘Don’t You (Forget About Me)’ was quite different from his usual style.

The frontman’s words on the guesses of the judges:

“These are my peers. I said, well, they’re definitely in the ballpark here. David Lee Roth, Axl Rose, it’s the world I come from. Gene Simmons, if they thought about it, they’d realize he doesn’t have a voice. Well, I don’t think people expect me to sing like I sang ‘Don’t You (Forget About Me).'”

The singer’s appearance on The Masked Singer was certainly a memorable one, and his candid comments about the judges’ guesses showed his great sense of humor. Fans of the show were undoubtedly entertained by the twist and the ultimate reveal of the legendary rocker behind the doll mask. Snider’s experience on the show not only entertained fans but also brought up an interesting topic of discussion, as his voice being confused with Gene Simmons’ made for an unexpected and amusing connection between these two rock legends.
