In a recent episode of his podcast, The Ballad of Popsicle Sam, uploaded on YouTube, David Lee Roth admitted to spending $92,000 on marijuana, highlighting his extravagant daily habit.
The rocker humorously said:
“I smoke every day. I smoke my body weight. More than the gross national product of most emerging young African nations.”
Roth’s Staggering Dispensary Bill
To corroborate his claim, Roth involved his business manager in the conversation. The singer asked him:
“Jerry, would you please share with the folks my recent bill for pot coming from The Silver Lake dispensary?”
Then, his manager confirmed the amount, stating:
“Are you sure you want to hear this? $92,000.”
DLR added the following after his manager’s words:
“The $92,000 pot bill. That’s got to be a record. That’s got to be special. That’s got to be a world record special.”
DLR’s First Encounter With A Hollywood Dispensary
He also shared a story about his first visit to a dispensary near Hollywood, noting:
“I walked into the dispensary the first time, and I asked them, ‘I want something that’s kind of strong. Clearly, I’m a little bit energized. I’m switched on.’ [The employee] says, ‘What do you mean?’ I say, ‘I want to watch ‘Godfather I’ and ‘Godfather II’ without getting up to pee.”
Roth now receives his cannabis through delivery, as he disclosed:
“It’s all above board; it’s taxed.”
Roth’s Theory On Hagar’s Alleged Alien Encounter
In the same interview where he discussed his marijuana spending, Roth also speculated about Sammy Hagar’s alleged alien abduction and its effects. DLR, with a blend of sarcasm and seriousness, suggested that Hagar’s supposed extraterrestrial encounter, which he quipped involved a ‘sex probe,’ might explain some of Sammy’s behavior and remarks towards him over the years. He said:
“And in the face of a constant fart gas aimed in our direction here at the Mojo Dojo Diamond Dave Laboratories. And I think we’ve arrived at both the technical and the medical answer that may explain some of Sammy Hagar’s conduct and his constant spew of diarrhea vitriol in our direction. Sammy Hagar was abducted by aliens, and he was sex probed. Sex probed.”
Roth has recently released a new holiday song called ‘Talking Christmas Blues.’ The song, which features Roth speaking to the tune of an acoustic guitar and harmonica, has been positively received by fans.
