The legendary vocalist David Lee Roth recently shared an unreleased remake of Van Halen‘s ‘Panama‘ from the ‘1984’ album, which he announced via his social media.

Known for his charismatic style, vibrant energy, and distinct voice, David Lee Roth has been rocking the stage for the past five decades. It was announced in 1985 that the vocalist parted ways with Van Halen. Though he had departed from the band during the peak of their success, Roth continued being an active performer and composer. The rock star has worked on various music projects, from releasing his solo materials to reuniting with his former band.

The last decade has been pretty quiet for the ever-energetic singer, though, as he hadn’t released any new solo material following his latest 2003 solo record, ‘Diamond Dave.’ After reuniting with Van Halen in 2007 and working with the band on the 2012 LP ‘A Different Kind of Truth,’ any hopes for a future reunion with Van Halen were crushed when legend Eddie Van Halen lost his battle with cancer in 2020. The rocker had kept a relatively low profile since then, much to his fans’ dismay.

DLR did not disappoint his fan base when he announced the release of his new single, ‘Pointing At The Moon‘ on July 10, 2022. The song sparked the energy many missed and admired. Days after the initial release of his new single, the rocker dropped yet another new song, ‘Nothing Could Have Stopped Us Back Then Anyway‘ on July 28, 2022. With its nostalgic lyrics and a picture of Van Halen complimenting the single’s cover, it is evident that the song paid homage to his days with the legendary band.

Diamond Dave recently shared a new version of Van Halen’s song, ‘Panama,‘ via his official Twitter and YouTube accounts. The song was featured in their sixth studio album, ‘1984,’ which is now widely regarded as a classic. The fans seem to enjoy the release, and with DLR working on new projects and sharing tributes to Van Halen, perhaps an Eddie Van Halen tribute or a Van Halen reunion might be in the works.
