Avril Lavigne and Mod Sun recently shared two separate Instagram posts, indirectly hinting at their breakup by writing snidey captions.
The couple had first sparked rumors regarding a romantic relationship when they collaborated on the Mod Sun’s, ‘Flames.’ Soon after, it was reported that the pair had started dating, and got engaged in a relatively short while soon. However, it was recently announced that the couple had broken up. Avril and the rapper had been silent since, as no official announcements were made.
However, it seemed that Mod Sun decided to address the breakup, as he shared a selfie along with a few pictures from his tour on Instagram, stating that he had been through challenging times, but all the love he had gotten from his family, friends, and fans helped him on the path to healing. The rapper wrapped up by thanking everyone for their love and support.
Mod Sun’s caption follows:
“In one week, my entire life completely changed… I just know there’s a plan for it all. I’ll keep my head up [and] always listen to my heart, even when it feels broken. Being surrounded by love every night on tour has been an absolute blessing. I have the best friends in the entire world; thanks for always having my back. See you on stage.”
Lavigne soon followed her ex-fiancee into sharing an Instagram post, though her caption wasn’t as directed at the breakup. The rocker shared a few pictures from a recent photo shoot of her wearing a dark shirt, written ‘I’m not doing sh*t today,’ on it. She captioned her post with the same remarks, jokingly hinting she was in a better headspace.
Avril’s caption for her post stated:
“I’m not doing sh*t today.”
It seems that the pair is still in the phase where they’re trying to move on from their recent breakup. Even though Mod Sun appeared to be more direct about the hurt he felt after the couple broke up, Lavigne seemingly hinted that she had nothing to say about her ex besides sharing a fun photoshoot.
