Some fans want David Lee Roth to wear a long wig like Paul Stanley’s for his upcoming appearance at the M3 Rock Festival.
The singer recently shared a short clip on YouTube from his Thailand days. The clip included a few photos of Roth with a chicken. A fan wrote in the comments, “Dave, may I make a suggestion for the M3 show? It’s to wear a long wig. There’s no shame in it, Paul Stanley did it for the last several years, never fell off once. Granted he didn’t jump around much.”
Another one praised DLR, saying, “Diamond Dave is a national treasure!” one other fan added, “So good to see Dave with the sideburns looking really cool!”
Roth will headline the 2025 M3 Rock Festival on May 3 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. This will be his first performance in over five years.
The festival’s 16th edition will also feature a reunion of Stephen Pearcy and Warren DeMartini. Accept, Winger, Slaughter, Steven Adler, and Sebastian Bach will perform on May 2.
“It’s gonna be party energy. It couldn’t happen but it did,” the singer announced his show at the M3 Rock Festival in an Instagram video. “Me, David Lee Roth, will trouble guitars.”
The rocker added, “Diamond Dave, the boss in the big town bringing the big sound in the big town the way it sounds on the record. Every classic Van Halen tune is putting the boom in the room. Anything missing now is you.”
Roth last performed on March 10, 2020, opening for KISS in Texas. He planned a farewell Vegas residency in 2022 but retired after the shows were postponed due to COVID-19. Since then, he has stayed low-key but has played some private events and shared new music and Van Halen covers on YouTube.
