In a new interview with Metal Hammer, former Megadeth bassist David Ellefson gave some life tips. In one of his tips, the bassist explained that opposites attract each other and that Dave Mustaine was his polar opposite. Ellefson explained why:

“My first impression of Dave Mustaine was that he was very sure of himself. He takes no sh*t from anyone because he grew up learning how to fight. He’s the polar opposite of me. I needed someone like him to fight and scrap our way through the bullshit of Hollywood and the music business, and he needed someone like me to soften the edges.”

Have Ellefson And Mustaine Contacted Each Other Yet?

The relationship between Mustaine and Ellefson has been rocky since 2002. Following Megadeth’s breakup due to Mustaine’s wrist injury, the bassist engaged in a lawsuit against Mustaine, leading to a significant rift between them. With the sex scandals added to the list of feuds, where Ellefson engaged in explicit messaging with a teenager, Mustaine made the decision to fire him.

According to the former bassist, the two parties have never spoken to each other since his split from the band. When asked about any contact from Mustaine during an earlier interview, Ellefson responded:

“No. No, absolutely not. No, he has not reached out.”

Mustaine Was ‘A Different Person’

In another interview, Ellefson stated that he does not like talking about his former bandmate anymore due to his changing behaviors over the years:

“I don’t really talking about him anymore. I like telling the funny stories, but I really don’t like talking about that part of things, because the guy that I know and love was a different person.”

So, with that, we can clarify that it remains uncertain whether they will communicate sooner or later.
