David Crosby Names His Favorite Stephen Stills Song

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young icon Stephen Stills recently shared a live version of his song, ‘So Begins The Task’, and upon seeing that, his former bandmate David Crosby took the stage and revealed that it is probably his favorite Stills song.

As a supergroup formed in the late 1960s, CSNY was among the most influential bands of their time period. The band’s debut album named ‘Déjà Vu’ is still considered among the greatest albums in the history of rock music. However, the band members also had a lot of problems with each other, which prevented them from moving on.

David Crosby is known to lose his connection to his former bandmates. Despite the rumors circulating, Crosby had stated that he still gets in touch with Stephen Stills and described him as the best guy in the band. Although Neil Young and Graham Nash still don’t talk to David Crosby, he said that he doesn’t have a problem with any of them.

Recently, Stephen Stills shared a video of CSNY performing live the song, ‘So Begins The Task’ in 1969. Then, a user replied to the post and praised the harmony between the band members. David Crosby saw the comments and the video as he was tagged in the post. Crosby revealed that it is probably his favorite Stephen Stills song. The song was originally released in the self-titled debut album of Stephen Stills’ band Manassas and Stills is the songwriter of the song.

Stephen Stills’ Twitter post read:

“From Crosby, Stills Nash and Young’s 7 night stand at The Greek Theatre in 1969, complete with the original lyrics, a live version of ‘So Begins The Task.‘”

A user’s comment on the video:

“Magnificent live CSNY version of ‘So Begins the Task.’ The stunning acoustic guitar interplay between Stills and Young, a mix of lovely lead runs and cascading chords. Listen.”

And David Crosby’s reaction to it:

Probably my favorite Stills song.
