The world has been discussing ways to stop climate change and the destruction of our planet, while some people completely deny it. However, a young activist named Greta Thunberg stood out with her straightforward speech when defending the next generations. She wasn’t afraid to criticize world leaders and drew attention from almost everybody, including rock stars.
Hence, David Crosby has been sharing his opinions regarding her every now and then, like he recently did on his Twitter. “Greta Thunberg is my hero,” the singer said. “She is behaving the way I would like to show young people.” The musician also stated that Thunberg is courageous enough to speak her mind and defend what’s right, “She is a fine, very brave human who is telling the truth.”
CSNY icon has previously praised Greta Thunberg on his social media pages, sharing snippets from her interviews and showing the crucial messages Thunberg has to say. Still, Crosby isn’t the only musician who supported the young activist. In fact, quite a few names used their music to reach more people about Thunberg’s message.
In May 2020, Pearl Jam shared an animated music video for their song ‘Retrograde’ from their eleventh album ‘Gigaton.’ The band decided to feature a cameo from Greta Thunberg since it portrayed the destruction of the world, with all band members and Thunberg marching against this.
Like Pearl Jam, Sting also released a song titled ‘Mother Nature ‘with Angelique Kidjo and celebrated World Environment Day in June 2021. The former Police singer also praised Greta Thunberg for their fight to raise awareness and save the planet. Furthermore, he dedicated his song to ‘the spirit of Greta Thunberg and the whole environmental movement.’
