In a recent exclusive Q&A session in the Gator Garage, Skid Row’s Dave’ Snake’ Sabo shared his thoughts about being a part of KISS’ second farewell tour ‘End of the Road’ and how he thinks that the rock icons will probably outlive their band.
‘The Farewell Tour’ in 2000 that Skid Row toured 23 years ago with KISS was what everyone assumed was the last of the band; however, they continued their lives on stages. The second time around with ‘End of the Road,’ which is scheduled to wrap up this December, has many fans and peers alike questioning whether it will actually be the end.
Sabo shared that he wouldn’t be surprised that Gene Simmons and KISS manager Doc McGhee have plans set in motion behind the scenes to prolong the band’s life for the next hundred years. He added that from his point of view, KISS will probably still be on the road long after Skid Row decides to shelve their careers and move on as retired musicians.
Dave Sabo’s words about KISS potentially outliving Skid Row read:
“I have a feeling this thing is going to live longer than us, to be quite honest; knowing Gene Simmons and Doc McGhee, I have a feeling they have a hundred-year plan in place. This is our second farewell tour with them [we did the first one 23 years ago]. Yep, that’s right.”
As the end of the ‘End of the Road’ tour draws near, don’t be surprised if there is an announcement for a third global farewell tour. Since KISS would have completed two of them by then, by the time the third one rolled around, no one would be shocked or mind getting the chance to see them again.
