Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine recently discussed the rock and metal festivals. In an interview with Bloodstock, Mustaine shared that some festivals no longer seem to be dedicated to metal music, indicating that metal music has been excluded from the mainstream. He said:

“We do have a good relationship with Bloodstock, and I know that we’ve set some pretty good records as far as sales, ticket sales, capacity, stuff like that. You probably know it too, but I don’t know the exact details. It just felt right to do something for our fans here in England, especially since some of the other festivals aren’t really that metal. They are kind of metal and alternative, and pop, and rock, this and that blah blah blah.”

The frontman praised Bloodstock and added:

“Bloodstock has been true to form since the beginning, and that’s a cool thing, even if it’s just for the fact that they are true to themselves.”

Mustaine also revealed that they would be sharing some news about a ‘new thing’ in the next couple of days.

The band performed in this year’s Bloodstock festival as the headliner with bands such as Helloween, Sepultura, Decapitated and more.
