Dave Mustaine Responds To ‘Fearsome’ Kerry King’s Recent Compliment

The music industry is a rivalry game, and everyone who is a part of it wants to give their best shot, especially in the metal scene. Two standouts, Dave Mustaine and Kerry King, who proved their talents on the trash scene, have had quarrels over the years, but they recently showed their respect for one another. King recently complimented the Megadeth guitarist, and Mustaine didn’t hesitate to respond on Twitter for his kind words.

In a recent interview with Metal Hammer, the former Slayer guitarist shared his thoughts about Mustaine. He described the Megadeth frontman as, “Still to this day, he’s a f*cking great guitar player.” King admitted that he was captivated by Dave’s guitar playing while praising his performance in the early days of Metallica. Apparently, Mustaine saw the interview and had a few nice things to say to the guitarist in return.

He wrote, “It’s not every day one of the most fearsome guitarists in the world gives you a compliment like this. Thank you, Kerry, I look forward to hearing your new stuff, and we should definitely go out together.” So, Mustaine also had some compliments for King after thanking him for his kind words.

It’s no secret that the rivalry between prominent names in the industry sometimes takes a wrong turn, which develops into feuds and bad-mouthing each other on different platforms. Still, on occasion, good relationships come out of it, and even friendships. Since Mustaine asked King to hang out, does this mean a new friendship is on the horizon or maybe even a collaboration? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, right? They would be a killer duo, though!
