In a recent interview with Look Mag, Cradle Of Filth frontman Dani Filth talked about the band’s upcoming album and discussed its musical direction.
“It’s very hard to talk about it,” the singer explained. “I don’t really wanna talk about it because I can’t do it justice. Every album has a lot of things going on. It’s just a very, very great record. It’s the next stage of our evolutionary step as Cradle Of Filth, moving on from the [two new songs] we debuted on [the 2023 live album] ‘Trouble And Their Double Lives’. It has elements of old-school Cradle, elements of new-school Cradle. It’s catchy, it’s fast, it’s slow, it’s romantic, it’s heavy, it’s theatrical.”
A month ago, the frontman referred to the upcoming album as ‘part of the evolution’ of the band. While he also thinks fans will love not just the album, but the production as well, he made it clear that the new singles don’t necessarily indicate what the new album sounds like.
“It’s pretty hard to explain, I can’t really talk about it. The new album has a ‘Dusk… And Her Embrace’ vibe to it. But no, we moved on from that. We started writing as a collective after that, these were stopgap songs that originally were intended toward a new album but because of the pandemic, it delayed everything and they found themselves out there. We just thought it was best to put them on the new record,” Filth said.
The new album will be a follow-up release to 2021’s ‘Existence Is Futile.’ A special edition of the album will feature a collaboration with pop singer Ed Sheeran.
While fans wait for the new album, they can see the band on tour. Cradle Of Filth is performing in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg tonight, and the tour soon ends on December 7 at Seraing, Belgium.
