Griffin Taylor, son of rock icon Corey Taylor, recently announced his decision to step back from social media. He shared his reasons in a statement posted on Instagram.

The announcement addressed Taylor’s struggles with the overwhelming nature of current events. He explained the challenges he faces with constant exposure to distressing news and global uncertainty.

“Going on a hiatus. Going to be putting Instagram down for the time being to focus on soul searching and mental health therapy,” Griffin Taylor said. “The world is really loud and explosive right now, everything is very scary and falling apart, and I just need to focus on myself and my life.”

He elaborated further on the specific pressures driving his decision. He emphasized the toll of constant negative information.

“To be more specific, I’m struggling with the overstimulation of this world. There’s so much scary sh*t happening that I’m just getting told constantly and I have nothing I can really do about other than fear,” he continued. “Just need to play more by ear, live in the moment, and be freed from the stress and pain.”

Despite the challenges he faces, Taylor reassured those concerned about his wellbeing. He expressed confidence in his ability to navigate this period.

“Don’t worry about me. I always manage and SOMEHOW break through. But I’m not gonna sit back and stress myself out any longer. I just want to breathe. Love you all. Take care of yourselves. Be good. Be alive.”

Griffin Taylor’s decision to prioritize mental health comes as he continues to establish himself in the music industry. According to Louder Sound, Griffin is the frontman of the nu metal band Vended. He founded the band in 2018, and it released its debut album in 2024, marking a significant milestone in his musical journey and establishing him as an artist in his own right.

Growing up as the son of Slipknot’s frontman has undoubtedly shaped Griffin’s life and career trajectory. Bored Panda notes that Griffin Parker Taylor is Corey Taylor’s son from his earlier marriage to Scarlett Stone. This marriage lasted from 2004 to 2007. This family background has given Griffin both opportunities and unique pressures in the public eye.

Corey Taylor has been supportive of his son’s independence and musical ambitions over the years. The Slipknot frontman expressed typical parental concerns while respecting Griffin’s autonomy, demonstrating a balanced approach to parenting in the spotlight. This supportive dynamic suggests that Griffin’s current decision to step back from social media likely comes from a place of genuine personal need rather than external pressure.

Griffin’s announcement reflects a broader conversation about mental health and digital wellness among younger generations. His willingness to publicly discuss overstimulation and the need for mental health therapy demonstrates a mature approach to self-care. By taking this hiatus, Griffin is prioritizing his well-being while continuing to pursue his passion for music with Vended. He is setting an example for others struggling with similar challenges in an increasingly connected world.
