Corey Taylor Collaborates With The Dead Deads For Their New Single, ‘Murder Ballad II’

Metal band Slipknot‘s lead vocalist Corey Taylor has recently appeared on a new up-and-coming punk-metal band The Dead Deads‘ new single ‘Murder Ballad II.’ In a recent interview with Matt Pinfield, Taylor explained how he got turned onto listening to The Dead Deads and how they decided to collaborate for a song.
Corey Taylor has been active as a lead singer for Slipknot since 1997 when the band was founded. He is also singing for the hard rock band Stone Sour since 2002 along with members from Slipknot and Soulfly. Aside from his two bands he is actively collaborating with other artists.
His recent collaboration with The Dead Deads was the follow-up to ‘Murder Ballad’, from the band’s last studio album. The song was recently released on The Dead Deads’ official YouTube account. ‘Murder Ballad II’ is thought to be a continuation of a love story of two lovers from ‘Murder Ballad.’
In a recent interview, Corey Taylor mentioned that he got turned onto The Dead Deads by listening to their album ‘For Your Obliteration.’ He added that their lyrics are the best he has heard in a long time and that the band members are really talented. He also stated that they were doing collaborations in the Stone Sour shows and that Leticia, the singer of the band, and himself got along well as songwriters.
Here is what Corey Taylor said in the interview:
“I got turned on to The Dead Deads by their album ‘For Your Obliteration’ which is such a great album and is some of the best songwriting I’ve heard in years. We had the chance to have them on some Stone Sour shows, and me and Tish hit it off as songwriters.
She said, ‘I’ve got this idea for a follow-up to ‘Murder Ballad,’ which was, essentially, ‘Murder Ballad II.’ Through video, we went back and forth, building this song and working it out. It became something really really cool.”
