Jaime Bennington has shared his thoughts on Green Day members posing with Linkin Park at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. The son of late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington posted his comments on Instagram.

“I’m not a huge Green Day Fan or anything but seeing this [Billie Joe Armstrong’s photos with Emily Armstrong]… These pictures are pretty lame,” Bennington stated. “I gotta say. First of the pictures are fine. Yes, it’s a little sad and little lame seeing them together. But they’re artists competing for awards in the same category.”

“So, whatever. They’re bound to meet each other. They’ve likely met each other before,” he continued. “I’m %100 certain that Chester’s met at least one of the Green Day guys. Second, I swear to God I swear it I just saw Green Day do a performance with they are saying something like, ‘F—k Donald Trump.'”

“I swear the God they were telling the president to go f—k himself. So, circling back to the pictures in point one, I’m kinda like, ‘You guys are kinda sellouts a little bit, aren’t you? Aren’t you a little bit.’ That’s what I see. When I see Green Day choosing to take a picture with the Armstrong,” Jaime added.

His comments addressed recently shared photographs of Green Day members and Linkin Park at the iHeartRadio Music Awards ceremony.

The two bands share a complex history spanning decades of mutual respect and shared stages. Reports from Green Day Authority revealed that Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt previously expressed their admiration for Linkin Park. Their statements particularly emphasized Chester Bennington’s impact on the music industry and his personal qualities following his passing.

The current controversy emerges during a pivotal time for both bands. Green Day maintains their active touring and political commentary. Meanwhile, Linkin Park has chosen a different path, exploring new directions through collaborations and special projects while preserving their rock music legacy.

Political expression has defined Green Day’s career trajectory. The band consistently uses their platform to voice political opinions. Their recent performances have maintained this approach, sparking diverse reactions from fans and fellow musicians.

This exchange brings to light ongoing discussions about authenticity and artistic integrity in the rock music community. These conversations particularly focus on band interactions at industry events and their public personas.
