Supergroup Category 7 has announced the cancellation of their first-ever tour.

In a statement released earlier today, Category 7 confirmed that their debut tour, set for March 2025 in support of their debut album, has been canceled due to low ticket sales.

“With the overwhelming competition for the live show dollar, we feel that our projected ticket sales will not be enough for our tour to be profitable, so we have made the painful decision to cancel our tour in March,” the band said in a statement on social media. “The cost of touring continues to go up and while we had no illusion of big profits, at least breaking even was a goal which after speaking to our agent and the promoters of the shows did not seem achievable.”

They added: “We appreciate everyone that is enjoying our music, and we will continue to attempt to find a way to bring the live show on the road. In making this decision now it will enable everyone to get refunds before Christmas. All VIP purchases will be immediately refunded. Thank you again for the support for Category 7.”

The cancellation had a ripple effect, as Exhorder, Hand of the Tribe, Dead By Wednesday, and Engineered Society Project were all set to provide support on the tour. As a result, these bands, along with support staff, venue employees, and others involved, will now be losing out on work.

The band’s lineup features Phil Demmel, Mike Orlando, John Bush, Jason Bittner, and Jack Gibson.
