Bryan Adams Says He Thought Prince Was Untouchable Upon Hearing ‘When Doves Cry’

Bryan Adams recently appeared as a guest on BBC Radio 2’s Sounds of the ’80s with Gary Davies and named some of his favorite tracks from the era. One of his choices was Prince‘s ‘When Doves Cry,’ which blew him away with its incredible lyrics.

Being involved in the music scene for over four decades now, Bryan Adams has been still performing with his Bryan Adams band. The singer has been quite active since the early months of 2022. He released his album, ‘Pretty Woman – The Musical,‘ on March 4, 2022. The record can only be found on several streaming services and features re-recorded songs that the singer wrote for the musical of the same name.

Later on, Adams’ fifteenth studio album, ‘So Happy It Hurts,’ arrived on March 11, 2022. He used the quarantine period of the COVID-19 pandemic to work on this album. The album was highly praised for the positive energy it gives and the feel-good rock songs. Bryan Adams recently released another album, titled ‘Classics,’ on April 1, 2022. It includes the new studio recordings of tracks from the 1980s and 1990s.

When he was asked to list some of his favorite tracks from the ’80s, one of his choices was ‘When Doves Cry’ by Prince. The singer thinks it is one of the ‘best songs ever written.’ When he heard it for the first time, he turned the volume up and pulled over the car. He was mesmerized by the brilliant lyrics of the song. For Adams, Prince is a fantastic songwriter, and he thinks that it is an incredible song that raises Prince to an untouchable position.
