It wasn’t until I came across your father’s work that I found that hope.”
He went on to say:
“Gurthie’s was the first music where I found a reflection of America that I believed to be true. Where I believed that the veils had been pulled off and what I was seeing was the real country that I live in and what was at stake for the people and citizenry who are my neighbors and friends.”
After praising his idol who really helped Bruce shape his music career, he went on to talk about the places that have inspired most of his writing. He said that California was a huge influence on his most ‘topical writing through my ‘90s, 2000s, and even now’ and went on to drop a bomb by saying that he has a ‘new record coming out soon that’s set largely in the West.’
This is what he said about his upcoming record:
“California was an enormous influence on some of my most topical writing through my ’90s, 2000s, and even now. We have a record coming out soon that’s set largely in the West.”
