Brian Welch Responds To The Accusations Against Korn After Jonathan Davis’ ‘Trainwreck’ Appearance
Korn guitarist Brian Welch recently shared on his Instagram that Jonathan Davis spoke on the new Netflix documentary, ‘Trainwreck: Woodstock ’99.’ Welch responded to the people who blamed Korn for the incidents that occurred during the festival.
Woodstock Music Festival took place from July 22 to July 25 in 1999 as an organization to emulate the original 1969 Woodstock festival. Names from the rock and metal scene, such as Korn, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Limp Bizkit, were on the stage, and many others appeared throughout the festival. However, as the shows continued with excitement, the crowd caused many problems, slowly getting out of control.
Besides the difficulties due to high temperature, violence, and vandalism, there were also other issues that changed the event’s vibe. During and following Limp Bizkit’s performance, some fans’ violent actions started to cause severe damage to many audience members and the environment. Although Fred Durst warned them during the shows, the violence escalated with time.
In the previous days, Netflix announced that it would broadcast a documentary about this chaotic organization under the name ‘Trainwreck: Woodstock 99.’ Jonathan Davis, who took the stage at the festival in 1999, gave an interview for this documentary. His fellow bandmate Brian Welch mentioned his appearance in the documentary on his recent Instagram post.
Welch stated that he has not watched the documentary yet but heard people accusing them of causing the incidents during the festival. The guitarist noted that Korn did not experience such a thing throughout their 28-year music career and was not the reason for those violent attitudes. According to him, the people to blame are apparent.
Brian Welch wrote the following:
“4th movie on Netflix with our own Jonathan Davis giving his thoughts on the train wreck. I hear some of the blame is coming onto us, but I haven’t watched it yet. Is it true? If it is, it’s funny how that’s never happened with Korn at any other show other than ‘Woodstock 99’ in our 28-year history. Pretty obvious who’s really to blame for the Trainwreck.”
The fans wondered whether he insinuated that Limp Bizkit was responsible for what happened since Welch had stressed that it was clear to him who was at fault. However, the guitarist revealed that the festival organizers were the ones people should have blamed.A
A fan asked the following:
“Dig at Limp Bizkit in caption?”
To which the Head responded:
“No, festival organizers are only to blame.”
