Brian Johnson Hints At New AC/DC Album

AC/DC‘s latest studio album, ‘Power Up’ arrived in 2020, and we haven’t heard about the band’s future recording plans since then. Yet, Brian Johnson recently spoke to the Fuelling Around podcast and implied that they might work on new material in the coming months.

The Australian act announced two months ago that they would perform at the Power Trip Festival, marking their first live show since 2016. Johnson revealed that they’re all quite keen to get back together, which may also bring some music as the creative juices seem to flow:

“It does take a lot of time to get a band like AC/DC together again. Most of the crew were out working with other people. Trying to get those guys back together again was tough, but I’ve got my fingers crossed – everything is going ok. The most important thing about it all is the eagerness we all feel; the juices are running again.”

The frontman also expressed his excitement to perform with the names like Ozzy Osbourne, Guns N’ Roses, and Metallica at the upcoming festival:

“It’s all rock and roll bands; it’s fantastic. I think it’s just a statement to say that rock and roll is a legitimate form of music. It really has made a difference. Ozzy is coming out of retirement, so I’ll be able to see my old pals again.

The Guns N’ Roses boys, the Metallica boys, and the Iron Maiden boys – all in one field, boy, what a party! It’s going to be in a beautiful valley near Coachella, but I don’t get involved in that kind of thing. I just like to turn up, get up and just rock my little socks off until I drop.”

In an interview with Eddie Trunk last year, the singer was again asked about AC/DC’s plans for recording any new material. Yet, he had kept it under wraps since he had been told not to discuss them. Johnson said:

“It’s gettin’ tabloidy here. You’re gettin’ tabloidy. If I say one thing, it’ll be blown out of all proportion. You just can’t afford to talk now. There’s too much blabber on the Internet. And I’m not on any kind of Face-thing or social media at all and never have been. It’s just gossip.”
