Bret Michaels recently shared a supportive message for fellow entertainer Guy Fieri, who suffered a serious injury after slipping down stairs. The statement was posted on Instagram.

Michaels’ message addressed Fieri’s recovery from a torn quadriceps muscle. This injury has left him temporarily using a wheelchair and crutches.

“To my brother, Guy Fieri, get healthy soon! You bring a lot of smiles to a lot of people,” Michaels said. “My heart and prayers are with you for an incredible recovery. Plus, I need you to do that scissor kick jump at the end of Nothing But A Good Time to help me in the show…Love you, my brother, Happy Holidays!!!”

The heartfelt message reflects the camaraderie between the two rock and entertainment figures. Michaels expressed both concern for Fieri’s wellbeing and confidence in his recovery.

The incident that prompted Michaels’ supportive words was far more serious than a typical fall. The 57-year-old Food Network star slipped down stairs while filming his TV show Flavor Town Food Fight, according to The Independent. This resulted in a catastrophic injury to his right quadriceps muscle.

The injury was described as exceptionally rare and severe. Fieri’s quad muscle “exploded”—tearing in half at the muscle belly rather than at the tendon, Health Digest reported. This was an unusual injury location that his doctor had not encountered in 20 years of practice. The accident occurred when one foot slid forward and the other caught, causing an extreme stretch that caused the damage.

The injury required immediate emergency surgery to prevent the muscle from receding further. Fieri was unable to walk for eight weeks following the procedure, Delish reported. He faced a mandatory eight-week period off his feet before beginning rehabilitation. Full recovery from such injuries typically takes six months to a year based on medical experience.

The accident disrupted filming on set with 125 people present. Creative adjustments to production schedules became necessary. The injury also forced Fieri to step back from cooking activities during the holiday season. Family members took charge of meals like Thanksgiving. Despite the setback, messages of support like Michaels’ demonstrate the strong bonds within the entertainment community as Fieri navigates his long road to recovery.
