Bret Michaels announced the postponement of his upcoming performance in a statement shared on Instagram. The cancellation comes shortly after drummer Rikki Rockett made public statements regarding tensions within Poison and the band’s touring plans.

Michaels cited unexpected circumstances for moving his scheduled show, emphasizing his commitment to his fans despite the situation.

“I just want to tell you, you know I love being out there on the road rocking the world with all of you. But the show on this coming Saturday, due to some unforeseen personal circumstances in my life, is simply going to be moved,” Michaels said. “Hold on to your tickets. We’re moving the show from this coming Saturday, November 15th to Saturday, May 16th. Hold on to those tickets—it’s gonna be sold out. We’re gonna make that show incredible. I’m putting together a great, fun three-song sound check party to thank you all for being awesome and patient.”

Michaels also announced plans to expand the rescheduled dates by adding an additional performance to accommodate fan demand.

“It’ll be sold out, so hold on to your tickets. We’ve had a lot of requests for a second night, and we’re gonna add that on Friday May 15th. The second show is gonna be added. I love you all,” he continued.

The cancellation follows recent comments from Rockett, who revealed ongoing tensions within Poison regarding a potential 2026 40th-anniversary tour. While Rockett, C.C. DeVours, and Bobby Dall agreed to a Live Nation touring contract, Michaels has not yet committed to the plans.

Rikki Rockett said, “Bret and I do not talk, unfortunately. That’s a shame—honestly, it is. So we get bits and pieces of stuff.” He added, “I’ll set the record straight as far as Poison touring: at this point in time, there is nothing on the books for a 2026 40th-anniversary tour.”

“I said it months ago when we got presented a contract from Live Nation to go on tour next year. C.C., Bobby and I agreed. We thought it was great. We thought the money was great. We thought the lay of the land looked great. Then Bret looked at it and has not agreed to anything. So literally that is where we’re at.”

While Michaels cited “unforeseen personal circumstances,” the cancellation appears connected to ongoing health struggles that have significantly impacted his touring schedule. AXS reported that Bret Michaels has been managing a serious health issue related to his lifelong Type 1 diabetes. A recent performance saw his blood sugar drop dangerously low to 39, causing a significant scare.

This incident prompted Michaels to make major adjustments to his 2025 tour schedule. The Loon noted that Michaels announced plans to take most of 2025 off from performing except for a limited number of select dates. He aims to recharge and get a thorough physical tune-up based on recent medical setbacks and doctor and family advice.

Michaels’ health challenges extend beyond his recent diabetic episode. Ultimate Classic Rock highlighted his long history, which includes a serious 2010 brain hemorrhage. The latest diabetic episode underscores the challenges he faces balancing intense tour schedules. Back-to-back performances across different states contribute to these health risks.

Despite these obstacles, Michaels remains committed to his fans and future performances. Metal Wani shared that he is prioritizing his well-being to maintain his energy and spirit for future tours, including the anticipated Poison 40th-anniversary tour in 2026. The rescheduling of his November show to May 2026 reflects his ongoing efforts to balance health management with his passion for performing.
