Poison frontman Bret Michaels issued a statement addressing the band’s 2027 reunion plans, asking to postpone discussions until after Memorial Day weekend, as reported on his Instagram.

The statement came after drummer Rikki Rockett revealed that a management meeting had been scheduled to discuss a 2027 reunion offer. Michaels explained his reasoning for the delay, citing travel plans, family commitments over the holiday weekend, and respect for the occasion.

“Recently, it has come to my attention that there have been some offers for Poison in 2027 and because I would be traveling to awesome Atlantic City tomorrow and Charles Town WV Saturday and both performing & with family over Memorial Day weekend, and out of respect to the other members in Poison to honor the weekend, I would kindly ask that all offers be discussed the week following Memorial Day, as it is a weekend for remembrance and, as I’m the son of a veteran and almost every member of my family have served or is currently serving, as well as the fact I’ll be traveling, that we all look to moving discussions of Poison 2027 to the following week which also gives time to see if I can move some of The BMB shows and special events that are already being contracted for 2027,” Michaels said.

Michaels also addressed the broader question of a full reunion, emphasizing that all four original members must be involved for any Poison show to move forward.

“As I’ve always said, I’m forever grateful and excited to see my other Poison band members for a reunion and put on a great show for the fans. But as everyone really knows, there is a lot of stuff to agree on and a lot of moving parts and schedules to discuss,” he continued. “I’m sure each member will have the respect to discuss this after Memorial Day weekend as we all know there is no chance to do a real, all-original members reunion if not all the original members are there, nor would we want to, nor would the promoters want it as Poison is nothing more than a name without the original C.C., Bobby, Rikki and myself giving 100% mind, body and soul.”

Michaels concluded by confirming a mutual agreement among the band members and expressing optimism about the reunion coming together.

“All members of Poison agreed that we will not perform as the name Poison without all four original members. As the fans know, Poison runs off of excitement, positive energy and real live music. I have a great feeling we’re all going to attempt to make all of this work for 2027. Stay tuned,” he said.

This statement followed Rikki Rockett’s comments the previous day, in which he said: “I don’t wanna throw anybody under the bus — I’m not gonna do that — but I will say this: literally tomorrow we are having a conversation with management. We have been made an offer for 2027, and we’re going to talk as a band and with management.” Further updates on the reunion discussions are expected after Memorial Day weekend.

The latest developments signal that a Poison reunion, while not yet confirmed, is more active than it has been in some time. The road to a full comeback, however, has been anything but straightforward.

Blunt Magazine reported that the band has received a concrete offer for a possible 2027 reunion tour, suggesting the discussions have moved beyond mere speculation and into genuine negotiation territory. The offer marks a significant step forward for a band whose reunion talks have repeatedly stalled in recent years.

The current 2027 discussions are particularly notable given the band’s troubled recent history with reunion planning. Earlier plans for a 40th-anniversary tour reportedly collapsed, as Blunt Magazine noted, making this latest round of talks all the more significant for fans who have been waiting for the original lineup to reunite on stage.

Despite the renewed momentum, the situation remains fluid. The outlet noted that the reporting points to possible meetings and tour offers, but not a locked-in announcement. That means Poison’s reunion is still in the negotiation and interest stage rather than a fully confirmed comeback. Scheduling conflicts, solo commitments, and logistical hurdles still need to be resolved before any official announcement can be made.

What is clear, however, is that all four original members — Michaels, C.C. DeVille, Bobby Dall, and Rikki Rockett — remain the non-negotiable foundation of any Poison reunion. Michaels’ statement reinforces that the band is unwilling to move forward under the Poison name without the complete original lineup. This position both protects the band’s legacy and raises the stakes for the ongoing negotiations. Fans will now be watching closely for updates in the week following Memorial Day.
