In a new interview with Guitar World, Brad Whitford discussed the farewell of Aerosmith and explained whether or not Steven Tyler and Joe Perry were faking it.

Discussing whether or not the band would come back a few years after they announce their farewell tour like ‘other bands,’ Whitford explained if they would keep going:

“In my mind, it’s not possible to keep going. I don’t bullshit anybody; I just don’t do it, and sometimes that upsets people. That’s just the way it is. People have to be willing to accept that. And I was probably the last person to sign on for this tour because even though this is a multimillion-dollar business, the reality is you’ve got to work awfully hard to end up in a good place financially.”

The Less Drama, The Better

The band’s history has been filled with dramas and feuds throughout their career. Despite the Perry-Tyler feud and similar incidents, the arguments among the members recently started to settle down. Whitford talked about the drama in the band and what will happen once the tour is over:

“But it’s not really rocket science, and it should always be more fun than you’ve ever had, right? There shouldn’t be any drama; we humans have enough sh*t going on. So when we finish this tour, that’s going to be it.”

The Farewell Tour Postponed Due to Tyler’s Health Issues

‘Peace Out: The Farewell Tour’ was supposed to wrap up towards the end of 2023, but was postponed until 2024 due to Steven Tyler’s health issues. After damaging his vocal cords, it was announced on the band’s Instagram page that the tour would temporarily stop until 2024. His doctors initially gave Tyler a notice, saying that he shouldn’t be singing for the next 30 days, which eventually rounded up to a few months.

Aerosmith, rescheduling their dates, added six dates for 2024. It’s uncertain whether the band would add more dates to the following year. See the dates below.
