Bonnie Raitt shared an update on her current health in a recent series of tweets and asked her fans to forgive her for the change of plans in her upcoming tour schedule.
In late April, we saw the announcement on Twitter that Raitt had to undergo surgery due to an undisclosed medical situation. This led to the postponement and rescheduling of her five tour dates in May, while her performance at Brandi Carlile’s Mothership Weekend was canceled. Her recent tweets served as the first update since that statement.
The singer said that she and her band were looking forward to getting back on stage in a few weeks after revealing that her operation was successful. She claimed that she was steadily healing and feeling better every day.
Raitt then went on to express her regret for having to delay the shows and apologized to those who couldn’t join the performances because of the rescheduling. She also conveyed her gratitude for her fans’ support and wished to see them another time.
Her first tweet read:
“Hi there; I want to thank you all for your beautiful, caring wishes for my speedy recovery. Everything went really well. My healing is on track, and I’m feeling better every day. The band and I can’t wait to get back to playing in a few weeks.”
And the second one continued by stating:
“I’m so sorry we had to postpone our shows, and apologize to those of you who won’t be able to join us for the rescheduled dates. I so appreciate your support and hope you can come see us another time.”
The musician did not forget about Mother’s Day and celebrated ‘all the moms’ early while ‘honoring our grandmas’ lineage.’ She thanked the mothers for their efforts and ended her message by expressing her happiness about bringing good news.
Her final words went as follows:
“Happy early Mother’s Day to all the moms, and honoring our grandmas’ lineage too! Who’d we be without them? So many thanks. Very grateful to bring good news. See you soon!“
The rescheduled dates for Raitt’s concerts in Athens, Pittsburgh, Louisville, and Indianapolis were announced in the statements from April, with the first two set for 2024 and the others scheduled for June and July, respectively. It was noted that tickets that have already been purchased would be valid for the new dates.
