Bobby Blitz Explains The One Condition Overkill Would Retire

Overkill frontman Bobby ‘Blitz’ Ellsworth sat down with THAT Rocks! and talked about his ongoing career, the new Overkill album and how the band would say goodbye in case of a disbandment or Bobby’s retirement. He explained having slower on stage routines helped him focus on his voice:

“I mean, that’s hard to think about it. Obviously sh*t’s slowed down but when sh*t’s slowed down for me in a personal level I could say that I’m actually singing better. I’m not having any problems with my voice; it’s been for at least a decade like this. I can do shows, I have no issues.”

Blitz stated he admits that he slowed down, joking about it:

“I mean, obviously I can’t do f*cking pirouettes off the monitors, like ‘He’s gonna break a hip!’ I mean, you don’t want to do it. Listen, I may be there, you’re right f*cking behind me, just so you know.”

The vocalist emphasised his successful career despite his age, and revealed the one condition that could retire him:

“The point is, if it’s still valuable and at a high level and I’m singing my version of Glenn Hughes at this f*cking age and release the twentieth record in my sixty-fourth year on the face of the f*cking earth, I’m ready to do this until I can’t sing well at this point.”

Overkill’s twentieth studio album ‘Scorched,’ which Ellsworth mentioned, was released in April this year. They almost concluded their ‘Scorching The Earth Tour’ and you can check here for the dates.
