Bob Marley’s Grandson Joseph ‘Jo Mersa’ Marley Passed Away At 31

Joseph ‘Jo Mersa’ Marley, son of musician Stephen Marley and the grandson of Bob Marley, died at 31. It’s never easy to be the bearer of tragic news like this one, but a rep for the singer confirmed Marley’s death to Rolling Stone; however, they did not specify a cause of death.
A few theories about the late singer’s passing were put out on the internet. Journalist Abka Fitz-Henley tweeted that Jo Mersa was allegedly found unresponsive in a vehicle. The South Florida radio station WZPP also posted about the tragic news and reported that he died of an asthma attack without giving any specific locations or any further details of what happened.
Although alleged rumors are going around about the death of the late reggae singer, no official statement about the cause of his passing has been released, so nobody has confirmed any of the theories. The only thing we can do is reminisce about the good times and remember the late singer for everything he wanted to accomplish for his generation of reggae musicians.
Jo Mersa wanted to make a name in the industry and change what the world had expected of him as a Marley. In his previous interview with Rolling Stone, he had said, “I am one of the new generations of Marleys, but I am still experimenting at the same time. I plan to do something new with my roots.”
He was adamant about honoring his roots by releasing evolved projects for the new generation of reggae artists. Although he had dreams and aspirations to look forward to, the singer’s life was cut short. Even if the exact details have yet to be released, Jo Mersa will be missed. RIP Marley.
