Bloodywood’s Karan Katiyar recently shared his thoughts on the nu metal scene, offering a surprising pick for the best band in the genre during an interview with Louder Sound.
Katiyar provided an unconventional answer that acknowledges the complexity of genre classifications when asked about who he considers the best nu metal band in the world.
“My answer is going to be slightly controversial, because this band isn’t nu metal, but they use nu metal elements really well: I Prevail,” Katiyar said.
The musician went on to express his admiration for the band’s work and potential collaboration interests.
“One of my favourite tracks from them is called Gasoline,” he continued. “I’d 100 percent tour with them, but I don’t know whether it would work out for them. We have very different audiences. Might not be a good move business-wise.”
Katiyar’s choice reflects the evolving landscape of modern metal, where genre boundaries have become increasingly fluid. Artists now draw from multiple influences to create their sound.
