Black Veil Brides has released a new heavy song titled “Hallelujah” with an animated music video. This prompted frontman Andy Biersack to address fan questions and concerns about the song’s themes in a statement shared on Instagram.

Biersack explained the creative inspiration behind the song and its visual elements. He drew connections to classical literature and art.

“‘Hallelujah’ – Official animated video out now,” Biersack announced. “Long-time BVB fans know that Gustav Dore’s pieces, especially those depicting the fall and war in heaven, have played a big part in the visual language of the band dating back to our first record. Milton’s poem has been a constant source of creative inspiration for me personally since the first time I read it. To be able to see our new song brought to life with such a beautifully animated version of this story is a dream come true.”

The frontman further elaborated on the deeper meaning behind the song’s themes.

“I view the source material as one of the first and most potent examples of the ways in which we are susceptible to the rage and pain that comes from being dismissed. It shows the delicate balance we have to walk between the feelings of revenge and not falling victim to our instinctual yearning for retribution when we are wronged, slighted, or ostracized,” he said. “This is a central theme in many ways of the new record. I hope it resonates within ‘Hallelujah’ itself.”

When a fan asked about the video’s biblical themes, Biersack clarified the broader narrative scope.

“In short, yes, but it’s more broadly about the fall from grace. That is mirrored in Adam and Eve’s ‘fall’ etc,” he responded. “Paradise Lost is sometimes called ‘biblical fan fiction’ as it’s a non-canonical retelling of the war in heaven and Lucifer’s fall/rise.”

Addressing concerns from Christian fans, Biersack emphasized the song’s universal themes rather than any religious opposition.

“There’s nothing that is anti anything in this song or the idea. I’m interested in the truth of our social and ideological discourse and the universal feelings we get when we are ‘wronged’ in one way or another, or how I see them anyway,” he said. “I appreciate you being open to it!”

The release of “Hallelujah” marks a significant moment for Black Veil Brides as they prepare to unveil their upcoming album. This track serves as the first glimpse into their evolving sound and thematic direction.

Kill The Music reported that “Hallelujah” serves as the first single from Black Veil Brides’ upcoming album. The track indicates the record’s exploration of pain, retribution, and resilience through unexpected musical and thematic influences. It represents a key indicator of the band’s artistic evolution and their willingness to tackle complex philosophical themes within their heavy sound.

Fan reception has been notably positive. Many praised the song’s contemporary relevance. Loudwire noted that fans have observed tha “Hallelujah” addresses the modern issue of cancel culture. The song highlights how society demands purity while masking internal decay. This interpretation aligns with Biersack’s own explanation of the song’s themes regarding social ostracism and the human response to being wronged.

The enthusiastic fan response has been particularly encouraging for the band. One fan described the track as “what the world needs.” They emphasized its tough yet necessary message about social rejection and misunderstanding, as Loudwire documented. This reaction demonstrates how the band’s literary and philosophical approach to songwriting continues to resonate with their audience.

Blabbermouth confirmed that the release of “Hallelujah” officially launches the promotional campaign for Black Veil Brides’ next full-length album. The band is expected to reveal more details about the record in the coming months. The single’s success and positive reception suggest that fans can expect more thematically rich and musically heavy material from the upcoming release.
