He reflected on his time with the band: “We had a ride in that band. We played all over the USA and some Canadian dates. But I still am forever grateful to Dave for the biggest break of my life getting me a PhD in showbiz.”

Recent interest in David Lee Roth has surged following his live performance at the M3 Rock Festival.

The definitive response carries significant weight from someone who played a crucial role in Roth’s early solo career.

Killer Guitar Rigs documented that the ‘Eat ‘Em and Smile’ album emerged in 1986 as David Lee Roth’s first solo venture. The album featured a supergroup lineup with Billy Sheehan on bass and Steve Vai on guitar. This release became a milestone in establishing Roth’s solo career after leaving Van Halen.

Ultimate Classic Rock revealed that Sheehan’s collaboration with Roth continued beyond their initial project. He contributed to Roth’s second solo album, “Skyscraper.” His voice remained part of the “Skyscraper” tour through pre-recorded backing vocals, even after his departure from the touring lineup.

Roth’s recent appearance at the M3 Rock Festival sparked new reunion speculation. Ultimate Guitar highlighted the groundbreaking nature of their original collaboration. However, Sheehan’s current position makes it clear this chapter of rock history will stay in the past.
