Billy Idol recently revealed the one song he wouldn’t play on stage with Generation Sex.

In a recent Times newspaper issue, Generation Sex was featured in an interview where Idol discussed the one song he considers ‘off limits’. He stated:

“We’re not doing ‘Anarchy In The UK’. It’s such a Johnny Rotten song.’God Save The Queen’ and ‘Pretty Vacant’, I can get away with those.”

Apparently, Johnny Rotten, better known as Johnny Lydon now, was offered to join the band as well, but he declined. He has been touring with his band, Public Image Ltd, which Idol mentioned, and said:

“I knew Johnny was going to do Public Image, so he didn’t want to do a Sex Pistols reunion.”

When the members were asked what Lydon thought of the band, Pistols guitarist Jones replied with:

“No idea. Haven’t spoken to him in years.”

Tony James, quite similarly, responded:

“I don’t know, John. I haven’t spoken to him in 30 years. I don’t know what he thinks these days.”

It might appear to some that Lydon didn’t join the band because of their beef earlier. Lydon filed a lawsuit against Jones and Cook due to their use of Sex Pistols’ songs in the biographical drama miniseries ‘Pistols’, which he disapproved of. Lydon lost the court battle and, reportedly, is in ‘financial ruin‘.
