Billy Idol On Touring With Billie Joe Armstrong And Green Day

Billy Idol recently spoke to Audacy Music for an interview and revealed his insights about hitting the road with Green Day and Billie Joe Armstrong.

As a result of the global pandemic, many gigs and festivals were postponed. Now that the restrictions are eased, most bands are back in business, and concert-goers are getting ready for the long-awaited festivals to see their favorite music acts on stage.

Although the ninth edition of Rock In Rio was scheduled to take place in 2021, it was postponed to September 2022 due to the coronavirus pandemic. In March 2021, the new dates of Rock In Rio were announced, with Billy Idol, Fall Out Boy, Green Day, and Avril Lavigne as headliners.

On September 9, Billy Idol, Green Day, Capital Inicial, and Fall Out Boy will perform on Rock In Rio’s main stage, dubbed the World Stage. Moreover, Avril Lavigne will headline the Sunset Stage, which will be the Pop Punk Queen’s first time at the festival.

Speaking to Audacy Music, Billy Idol confirmed that he would perform with Green Day at Rock In Rio and do a little tour with them afterward. He then praised Billie Joe Armstrong and his bandmates and said he was sure it would be fun taking the stage with them. According to the artist, they haven’t played at the festival for around 30 years.

During the conversation, Billy Idol said the following:

“We’ll be playing at Rock In Rio and doing a little tour with Green Day. They’re great lads, Billy Joe’s fantastic, so it’d be a lot of fun playing with them. We haven’t been down there for about 30 years, so I know that my fans down there are really starving for some action. So, here we go.”
