‘Punk Rock Queen’ Avril Lavigne and rapper Mod Sun recently announced their engagement on their official Instagram accounts.
In early 2020, Mod Sun began working on his fourth studio album. Following the album’s lead single ‘Karma’ and the second single’ Bones,’ he dropped the third single ‘Flames.’ Released on January 8, 2021, the song was a collaboration with Avril Lavigne. She co-wrote the lyrics along with Mod Sun.
After the release of ‘Flames,’ Mod Sun and Avril Lavigne began dating. Their relationship became publicized after Mod Sun was spotted with an ‘Avril’ tattoo on his neck. Recently, the couple announced that they got engaged on April 7. As seen in the pair’s Instagram posts, Mod Sun proposed to Lavigne in Paris, dubbed ‘the City of Love.’
In her Instagram post, Avril Lavigne wrote a French caption that read ‘Yes, I love you always!‘ Moreover, the rocker also revealed that this happy event occurred on March 27, 2022. In the first picture she posted, Mod Sun gets down on one knee and proposes to Lavigne with the Eiffel Tower in the background.
Mod Sun also posted on his Instagram to announce their engagement. Along with sharing several pictures with Lavigne, Mod Sun wrote a romantic poem for his future wife. In the poem, he stated that he knew Lavigne was the one the day they met, and proposing to her in Paris was one of his dreams.

Mod Sun’s Instagram post read:
“The day we met, I knew you were the one. Together forever till our days are done. I had a dream where I proposed in Paris. I pulled out a ring + asked you to wear it. I was on one knee as I looked into your eyes. You’re too beautiful for my words to describe. I grabbed your hand + took one last breath… I said, ‘Will you marry me?’ + she said ‘Yes.’ I love you, Avril.”
