Arctic Monkeys Drummer Matt Helders Joins 11-Year-Old Nandi Bushell To Cover ‘I Bet You Look Good’
11-year-old rock prodigy Nandi Bushell has shared a video on her Instagram revealing that she has collaborated with Arctic Monkeys’ drummer Matt Helder for a cover of ‘I Bet You Look Good.’
As you may know, Nandi Bushell went viral with her drum cover of Nirvana’s ‘In Bloom’ back in November 2019. Bushell is known to cover Arctic Monkeys’ ‘Brainstorm’ last year, and it is known that she was also involved in a drum challenge with Dave Grohl. She was well-praised by Queens Of The Stone Age, Royal Blood, and many more, and was gifted a guitar by Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello after her successful cover of ‘Guerilla Radio.’
The exciting news which revealed that Bushell and Helders teamed up came up last week when Bushell shared on her Instagram Story a video of herself talking about her future plans. The pair worked on performing some of the Arctic Monkeys’ classics, and revealed that there are other three parts of the jam session to be released which includes a cover of ‘R U Mine’ following the cover of ‘Brainstorm,’ and an interview along with an improvisational jam.
Bushell also said in the caption of her Instagram post that Helders came into her house for a cup of tea and to jam with her. She stated that they had the best time while jamming lots of songs together and had fun improvising drum beats. Bushell then thanked Helders for the jam and the interview, saying he is welcome to come again any time.
Bushell’s Instagram post read:
“Thank you so so so much Matt for jamming with me and letting me interview you. You are welcome back to my house for a jam again any time. Also, thank you to my guitar teacher Tom McCarthy for adding live backing guitar off-camera and for being an awesome teacher. And thank you for all the support, Guitar: Fender Drums: Ludwig Drums, Cymbals: Zildjian, Interface: Roland, Sticks: Vic Firth, Mics: Sontronics.”
