Anthrax’s rhythm guitarist, backing vocalist, and lyricist, Scott Ian, recently posted a series of photos on his Instagram account and recalled the tour that left its mark in rock and metal history, the Big 4 tour when Anthrax co-headlined with Slayer, Metallica, and Megadeth and exclaimed let’s do it again.’

There is no doubt that Scott Ian is one of the most influential figures in the metal scene both as a guitarist and as a founding member of Anthrax. As you know, Anthrax is credited to be one of the pioneers of thrash metal in the 1980s and a member of the ‘Big 4’ alongside Slayer, Megadeth, and Metallica.

Back in 2011, the Big 4 toured together and co-headlined in multiple events. In fact, one of the most iconic performances of the tour which took place in Sofia, Bulgaria on June 22, 2010, was turned into a movie ‘The Big Four: Live from Sofia, Bulgaria‘ which was released in October 2010 and was shown at 450 movie theaters in the United States.

In his recent post, Scott Ian cherished the great memories that he has from that tour, and especially their performance in Indio, California. He recalled having a great time and called out to the Big 4 to do it again after the pandemic is over. Ian added that it was very good to see Jeff Hanneman that day, who passed away almost two years after that photo was taken. Scott Ian’s post excited thousands of metal fans who said that a Big 4 tour would be amazing.

Here’s what Scott Ian said in the caption of his Instagram post:

“The Big 4 show in Indio CA was 10 years ago today! Goddamn what a great day! Let’s do it again! And it was awesome to see Jeff that day. Live pics by Iron Mike Savoia. Group pic by Andrew Stuart. Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax, The Big 4.”

This is what a fan commented:
