Ann Wilson of Heart shared her thoughts on Led Zeppelin members’ attractiveness during her appearance on After Dinner Thinks with Ann Wilson.
“When I was young, it was Page,” Wilson said when asked about who was hotter between Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. “Now, of course, it’s Plant.”
“John Paul Jones is a gentleman,” she continued. “Maybe, Jimmy and Robert are too. But you kind of hope that they’re not,” she added with a laugh.
The fifth episode of her show featured a discussion about the upcoming ‘Becoming Led Zeppelin’ documentary.
Wilson’s playful comments about Led Zeppelin members showcase her long-standing connection with the legendary rock band.
Far Out Magazine revealed that Wilson considers ‘Led Zeppelin IV’ her favorite album of all time. The record stands as the most significant influence on her creative development. She praised Robert Plant’s evolution as a songwriter during this period. “It had a lot to do with Robert Plant’s lyrics… That’s the album when he really started to write in a more masterly way,” she explained.
Wilson delivered a memorable performance of ‘Stairway to Heaven’ with her sister Nancy at the 35th Kennedy Center Honors in 2012. WDHA FM documented her description of the experience as “pretty damn close to orgasmic in terms of bliss.” The performance earned a standing ovation and Robert Plant’s appreciation.
“I credit Robert Plant for demonstrating to me that you could step outside the cultural norms of what a chick can sing and what a dude can sing,” Wilson stated. Her words emphasized Plant’s influence beyond musical boundaries.
Ultimate Classic Rock reported Wilson’s offer to front a band with former Led Zeppelin members in 2008 after their O2 Arena reunion. The opportunity never materialized. “Hypothetically, if they ever needed a lead singer and Heart was not active at the moment, then, sure, I would,” she expressed.
‘Becoming Led Zeppelin’ premiered in several countries on February 7, 2025.
